Haskapa is thrilled to announce that we’ll be exhibiting at the National Geographic Traveller (UK) Food Festival this summer! The festival returns to London on the 20-21 July 2024 and we’re looking forward to letting everyone taste our delicious freeze-dried haskap berry powder. Just add one or two teaspoons to smoothies, porridge, yoghurt and cereal. Haskapa powder also blends brilliantly with all milks and makes a delectable fruit tea.
Haskap berries have an outer purple-blue skin and a juicy, deep crimson flesh. As a result of their abundant vibrant colour, they have three times the antioxidants and four times the anthocyanins of blueberries. Freeze-drying the berries preserves their uniquely tangy, sweet flavour and naturally high level of anthocyanins for year-round consumption.
Haskap berries have been used for centuries in traditional medicine and were named by the Indigenous Ainu people of northern Japan, who knew them as the 'berry of long life'.
