Neil Coletta worked in professional kitchens throughout the US for almost two decades before earning a graduate degree in gastronomy from Boston University, as well as advanced certificates in wine studies and artisanal cheese. He then served as a professor of food studies at Boston University, focusing on the history and anthropology of food and cooking. At the same time, he served as the university’s assistant director of programs in food & wine, organising a year-round series of gastronomic lectures, demonstrations, classes and events with some of the top names in the food world. Neil was halfway towards completing his PhD at the State University of New York before realising that the life of an academic doesn’t allow for enough travel! Having found a home at Intrepid Group as brand & product manager of food tours, he now combines his knowledge and passion for both food and travel.
