Romy Hardeep Gill MBE is a British-Indian chef, presenter and food writer. She’s the owner and head chef of Romy's Kitchen in Thornbury and was appointed an MBE in the Queen's 90th birthday honours in 2016 for her services to food. Romy contributes regularly to The Observer and The Guardian, where she had a residency in April 2016, and her recipes have been featured in various national newspapers and magazines. On television she’s a regular on James Martin’s Saturday Morning and has also appeared on Celebrity MasterChef, The Hairy Bikers’ Comfort Food, Countryfile and James Martin’s Great British Adventure. Romy is the new monthly recipe columnist for The Independent online and travels all over the world teaching cookery classes and speaking at events. She’s also a presenter on BBC Radio 4’s The Food Programme and a judge for the show’s Food and Farming Awards. Romy’s currently writing her first book, Zaika: Vegan recipes from India (Orion Publishing House), out in September.
