Hans Koefoed established Pure Rainforest Chocolate by Koefoed in 2018 with only 3 kg of cocoa beans. Today, the company creates single origin and single estate artisan chocolate using only cocoa beans and cane sugar, with the beans coming from wild-growing trees in the rainforests of Fiji, Mexico, Guatemala and Peru. It also operates a chocolate-cafe in Denmark, with an open workshop where visitors can see, smell and taste the chocolate-making process for themselves.
